An 80‘s ‘metal head’ at an Aussie ‘bush doof’ - part 2

Now THIS is the life! It’s been a couple of years since I’ve taken Phoenix out camping.

Did I find what I was looking for? Well, yes and no....

Unfortunately, I was pressed for time, so had to leave earlier than I'd wanted to. That and the fact of an impending HUGE police presence had me wary of 'partying' too hard. Remember the court thing's still looming, and I kinda need my licence for work. Best to 'lay low' for the time being. 

Still, two days and nights were more than enough time to know I'm gonna be back next year. This time with holidays up my sleeve and a more leisurely attitude to my departure time. And more dehydrated bacon... 

And more tequila....

I don't know how to describe it properly and do it justice though.... 5000 people, all gathered together for 1 reason..... to have fun and enjoy themselves. But it wasn't like a footy crowd, or a concert crowd, or even a large group of friends gathered for a party. The vibe, it was waaaaaaay different. Of course there was alcohol, and maybe (?) drugs, but from what I saw.... it was all.... friendly. Like everyone was there not just for themselves, but for the person next to them as well.... It sure as hell impressed me! And it wasn't all 'Kumbaya' types of hippies either. I saw 5 yr olds alongside 40 yr olds just enjoying the music and the colour and the..... moment. 

Yeah... that's it....enjoying the moment!!!! 

And the other Vollies...... WOW!!!! The ones I met were all kick ass. Ya gotta remember, I'm normally pretty much a 'lone wolf' at the best of times, but I found myself actually interacting with these people, and taking an interest. As they did with me. 

I DID find out that I'm still not a fan of DOOF tho. But ANY place that has not one, but TWO gigantic fucking Native American Teepee's has definitely got my interest!!!!

As a side note, on my way OUT on the Saturday, the cops were 6 cars and 3 vans loaded at an R.B.T. at the end of the road catching possible drink/drug drivers going IN!!!! God knows how many would have been there at the end of the festival on the Monday?!?!

P.S. I DID see exactly 5 times as many naked females as I was expecting....
